Set-of-Threez is an independent three wheel riding club based out of the Dallas Fort Worth area and is focused on the lifestyle, community, and love within the three wheeled vehicle world. We mainly ride Can-Am Spyders and Can-Am Rykers but other types of riders are welcomed.
Officially started 10/13/2022, Set-of-Threez, a now well known riding club, was essentially formed from the dissolution of the now-defunct DFW Three Wheelers riding club. Members faced challenges as the club gradually faded away, and Yoda Lee, the road captain, recognized the need for a solution.
The DFW Three Wheelers, a former Dallas-Fort Worth riding club, faced a crisis when its president abruptly ended all communication with the members, without notice or justification. This left members uncertain about the club’s future. Amidst this uncertainty within the limbo-locked club, “Yoda Lee’“ recognized the pressing issues and the need for the creation of a new entity. He discreetly designed the framework for a separate club with its own branding, name, logo, and public accounts.
During the creation and establishment process, Yoda sought counsel from ”Lando”, the leader of the well-established Rollin on 3 riding club. Lando supported Yoda’s ambitions and provided valuable guidance, emphasizing the importance of legitimizing the new club, safeguarding intellectual property, and building off that strong foundation.
After much time in solitude and development, Yoda formalized his vision in early October 2022 by establishing Set-of-Threez LLC in Texas and registering his logo design as a registered trademark with the USPTO. This along with poor man’s copyrights, officially established Set-of-Threez as a legitimate legal entity. With branding and legal legitimacy established, the next challenge was to attract members. While only one de facto member/president, recognized by the state, Set-of-Threez would not be recognized as a group in the streets, Yoda was determined to overcome this obstacle.
As the DFW Three Wheelers remained in limbo, Yoda initiated the process of attracting new members by reaching out to fellow members of the DFW Three Wheelers. His goal was to maintain unity with minimal disruptive changes, especially considering the uncertainty and significant changes members would face by joining a new club while also leaving a club that abruptly dissolved without any warning.
Initially, the new club, Set-of-Threez, was introduced to the Vice President “Jinx” and Sgt. at Arms, “Heavy,” at the time of the DFW Three Wheelers. Recognizing the state and potential outcome of the DFW Three Wheelers, they agreed to join Set-of-Threez and became its first Vice President and first Sgt. at Arms, as well as being of the three founding members needed to be recognized as a group in the streets. Set-of-Threez quickly went from recognition on paper to recognition in the streets.
With the exception of the president, all members of the DFW Three Wheelers joined Set-of-Threez, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Yoda, the creator, owner, and de facto first member of Set-of-Threez, played a pivotal role, with his transition and visionary efforts. From his position as the road captain of the DFW Three Wheelers, this journey is how he became the first president of Set-of-Threez. To this day, Set-of-Threez continues to thrive and has ambitious plans for growth.
